Cracking Da Vinci Movie

Famed symbologist Professor Robert Langdon is called to the Louvre museum one night where a curator has been murdered, leaving behind a mysterious trail of symbols and clues. With his own survival at stake, Langdon, aided by the police cryptologist Sophie Neveu, unveils a series of stunning secrets hidden in the works of Leonardo Da Vinci, all leading to a covert society dedicated to guarding an ancient secret that has remained hidden for 2000 years. The pair set off on a thrilling quest through Paris, London and Scotland, collecting clues as they desperately attempt to crack the code and reveal secrets that will shake the very foundations of mankind.

As early as sunday I bought two tickets because Neil said "nagkaubusan na". So there I go, i texted my girl if she is interested to watch the movie, but after two or three messages, i got no response. So the following monday, i ask my good friend Dean Mark if he could join me to the cinema by thursday, unfortunately his schedule for his work is closing time so it would be impossible to catch the 7:30 premiere. I was thinking of whom i could spend the movie date with, a person who has the wits to be able to open up his/her wits on the controversial movie. As i browse my phonebook, there i go, Borj my brow. I texted him and the rest as they say is history.

As usual Borj came late on the agreed time. When he came and flashed that too good for comfort smile I was helpless and throw away back a smile. Huh!!!

The special screening
After eating dinner we proceeded to cinema one and went to the designated seats in the upper left side corner. And there I go, as expected Neil Roy was there together with his date...hmmmmm. hahaha. After a few minutes of waiting, two voices dominated the air, though we cant see them because of dimness of the stage, I still figured out that the host were all gay introducing themselves as Mona and Lisa (nice one there, hehe). Then they iniatiated a "bring me game". Bring me jacket , da vinci code book and the most fun part was bring me a condom. Yeah the hosts were lively with funny adlibs when they interview the participants. then the movie started.

The Actors
Tom Hanks leads the cast as the famed symbolist Robert Langdon. He was perfect for the role though his acting was not as bright as his performances in other movies he starred in.

Audrey Taotou as french cryptologist Sophie Neveu was not shining all throughout the movie. She was dull and looks uninteresting in the bigscreen

Ian Mckellen's performance as Sir Leigh Teabing was undoubtedly the best performances among the actor in the film. He successfully gave life the the wits and candidness of the Leigh Teabing of the book as described by Dan Brown

Paul Bettany as Silas. He did a good job, justifying every pain that the character of Silas supposedly felt during his self infliction of pain to experience the suffering of Christ.

The Adaptation
The movie version tried to do a faithful adaptation from the movie but cinematic purposes hinders some scenes to be changed and or edited like how Robert Langdon was brought to the museum by the French police. In the book he was at the hotel sleeping when the agent wake him up while in the movie he was there signing autographs for the book he wrote. There maybe some loopholes in the story from the book version Ron Howard made a stunningly great visualization plus the added music that captivated each actions and scenes, though sometimes it seems that they put on too much music on it that made it a loud and noisy film not to mention the too many narrations and dialogues which is essential to be able to really get into the point of the story. The movie started beautifully with the murder of Jacques Saunierre and it ended up heartwarmingly with Robert Langdon finally getting to where the Holy Grail is situated. Such a big impact to the crowd when Tom Hanks on bended knees felt the end of his quest matched with the music background suited for the dramatic ending. An applause was all the audience give to credit the flick that I may add to my list of my all time favorites.

Judging from the book version and the movie version, the book still stands out maybe because of the thrill and excitement that every clues , anagrams and riddles on it which can be read literally, while in the movie, though it tried to incorporate the ancient world to be able to fully narrate the story, it failed to keep the audience glued on the the riddles and anagrams precisely
because clues and riddles were only spoken and if captured by camera, its only on a flash.

****We let others go first before we had our exit at the movie house. We were still talking about the movie and everything of its element, from the acting to the more controversial point of Jesus having a bloodline.Borj and I stayed in front of Gmall which is now in total contrast of its stature during daytime. The dimly lit building was the witness of two souls exchanging wits and emotions for almost an hour there. We really had a great time spending the rest of the night together.
Thank you brow. thanks for the night. thanks for the company. see you when i see you again... i love you brow...

and as stated

I am the living witness to the divine proportionWitness the biggest cover up of human history.... and you know what is it brow... *wink*
